Attorney Lawlor Selected for Prestigious Fellowship

We are proud to announce that that the United States Army has selected firm partner Andrew Lawlor for a 10-month National Security Fellowship. Each year, the Army selects approximately 62 Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels from across the Regular Army, the National Guard and the Army Reserve to take post-graduate courses and conduct research on national security issues at the country’s leading universities. Universities with National Security Fellowship programs include Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Texas at Austin. Beginning in September 2008, Andy will attend Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

Officers are selected for the fellowship program based on their promise of rising to the most challenging leadership positions in the Army, the National Guard and the Army Reserves. The fellowship program is used by the Army as an alternative to attendance at the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and its completion is the educational prerequisite for appointment to the rank of a General officer.

Andy will return to the firm full-time in May 2009.
