Biography
Laura Fedele Riccio was born in Norwood, Massachusetts and was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1996. Ms. Riccio was educated at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (B.A.), received her law degree from Western New England School of Law (J.D.), and she received her Master's degree from Boston University Law School (LL.M., Taxation). In 2020, she became certified as an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designee by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) and has maintained the accreditation since such time. Ms. Riccio joined the firm as a law clerk in 1994 and is presently a Partner with the firm.
Ms. Riccio's practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning and the probate and tax administration of estates after clients' deaths. Ms. Riccio works with individual clients to establish their estate plans and thereafter works to assist their families with administering those plans after the clients pass away. She is an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designee by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC). In addition to being admitted to the Massachusetts bar, Attorney Riccio is admitted to the bars of the United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Riccio is a current member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and previously had been two-time Past-President of the Norfolk & Plymouth Estate and Business Planning Council. Attorney Riccio has been a member of the Probate Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association since 2017 and is presently its Vice-Chair with Chair, Attorney Jennifer Flanagan, since 2023. Attorney Riccio also is presently working with eight other dedicated attorneys to make technical amendments to the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC), the statute (M.G.L. Ch. 190B) which sets forth the laws surrounding the operation of the probate court and the laws surrounding estates and family matters.
Ms. Riccio has worked with clients to represent them with the sale of their real estate in the negotiations of purchase and sale agreements and the documents necessary to sell their property. She also is a licensed real estate broker and has represented tenants in their search for apartments as well as being the listing, selling, and buying agent with respect to the purchases and sales of single-family homes and condominiums. She has been a long-time member of the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts (REBA).
Ms. Riccio enjoys volunteering with UMass-Amherst by serving as an Alumni Admissions Councilor and appearing at college fairs. In that capacity she meets with prospective students and enlightens them on what UMass-Amherst has to offer academically and socially. She also enjoys her time working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation helping to fundraise and find a cure for CF.
Attorney Riccio lives locally with her attorney husband and younger son, while their older son is presently living elsewhere and following his parents' and grandfather's footsteps by working towards his own law degree.
